There is no doubt that the field in which our brother Laith is active in, are steady steps towards food sovereignty.
We are a group of friends and girlfriends, agricultural engineers in most of us, who have another specialty, but related to agricultural production. We work in Algeria in public and private institutions. We really like Rawabi Farah.
In fact, we see that the issue of indigenous or local seeds, or even adapted and capable of reproduction like the first generation, is one of the most important areas that must be taken seriously in our Arab region, and even wherever there are economic crises that often lead to starvation of peoples or lack of resources of Proper nutrition.
Therefore, we in Algeria today are also striving, and activating in our simple way to retrieve our original seeds, and we agree with you in your vision about the need to work on educating all parties and segments of society that can provide an addition to enrich the list and quantities of fixed and non-hybrid seeds, to avoid the occurrence of the unfortunate.
The health crisis, Covid 19, was the slap that we all needed, despite its bitterness, to move from the stage of thinking to working in the field.The quarantine system and the suspension of transportation between states and countries made us pay attention to an important point, which is that there may come a day, God forbid, we will have millions in our pockets, but we cannot buy our food with them because we simply do not control our seeds, which are the origin of all food products that guarantee the dignity of our citizens.
